From our base to your family, may you have a full Epiphany and a blessed New Year! Typically we would be starting our SSM soon, but we are in transition to our miracle, so our posts have been less. However, we wanted to start this year celebrating Epiphany with you all: This marks the beginning of the Epiphany period in Christian traditiona time when we remember Jesus being revealed to the wise men from the east, the magi, possibly those influenced by Daniels court in Babylon, as some scholars suggest. We believe, as pastorjon_t taught, that spiritual disciplines are the only guaranteed place of encountering God. The word Epiphany means striking appearance, like the star in the sky, the road to Damascus, or the walk to Emmausmoments where God reveals Himself to humanity. By celebrating occasions like Epiphany and practicing spiritual disciplines, we open ourselves to experience more epiphanies of Gods presence. Our prayer for you this year is that, as you discipline yourself, you would encounter a fresh revelation of God!
