Burning Lights DTS

Discover Your Purpose & Build Your Faith

5 Focused Months | This September

Primary Focuses …

Learn to live as He lived: wildly in love, wholeheartedly submitted to the Father, and empowered by Holy Spirit.

God’s Voice

Relationships require communication. Learning to hear and obey God’s voice is a critical foundation in our relationship with God and others. It’s important to us to pursue, practice, and mature our prophetic gifts so we can speak what He is saying, wherever we go.

The only adequate and appropriate response to God’s extravagant gift of salvation is complete worship, surrender, and adoration. We know that apart from God we can do nothing, so it’s important to us to cultivate humility, thankfulness, and abiding in His presence.

Love & Power

Jesus is our example: anointed with the Holy Spirit and Power, doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil. As His disciples, it’s important to us to do as He commanded, “Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”

Prayer &

There is nothing more powerful than the humility of knowing we need God in all we do. His kingdom come, His will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Prayer avails much, so it’s important that we pray, intercede, and remind God of His promises, day and night as we contend for breakthrough personally, locally, nationally, and globally.

Burning Lights?

Jesus said of John the Baptist that he was the lamp that was burning and was shining in whose light they rejoiced … John 5:35

the Lamp – or an oil-filled vessel lifted up for all to see – “like an eye that steers the body”. A prophetic voice crying in the wilderness.

… who was Burning – he was passionate – able to set others on fire

… and Shining – manifesting the revelation of the good news to come – to make things clear as in “Arise shine …” Is 60:1a

… the Light that came from him – the revelation of the goodness of God demonstrated in Jesus – “… for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you …” Is:60b

Burning Lights DTS is an opportunity to focus on developing your call or ability to shine. A time for your passion to grow, and to increase in the revelation of God’s goodness as you experience Him in a new way.

… for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light.

Eph 5:8

Burning Light – a believer wildly in love with Jesus, wholeheartedly submitted to the Father, empowered & inspired by Holy Spirit, willing and able to demonstrate and increase His Light and Love to the ends of the earth.

This little light of mine, I am going to let it shine!

What is a DTS?

The Discipleship Training School (DTS) is a 6-month Kingdom-training program in which the students not only learn about God and His nature but experience Him one-on-one, leading to deep transformational work. Students are then empowered to go out and make Him known, just as the great commission mandates.

Therefore go out and make disciples of all nations …

Matt 28:19

Through community living, classroom settings, cross-cultural missions, times of worship, prayer, and serving, students will be encouraged and challenged in their faith as they learn to step out in a supportive and loving environment.

Lecture Phase

The Lecture Phase is the first three months of the DTS. This time is focused on knowing God, not only with greater understanding but also in a personal & transforming way. It is a time to learn about His Kingdom, encounter His great love, be set on fire, and be given the necessary tools to maintain the flame far beyond the student’s season with YWAM.

Weekly topics will be taught by a variety of empowered speakers who will also provide times of ministry for the students. Topics like: Hearing the Voice of God, The Nature and Character of God, Holy Spirit, Jesus & The Cross, Evangelism, The Father Heart of God, Spiritual Warfare, Kingdom Culture, Biblical Worldview & World Mission, Relationships, and Identity & Destiny.

In addition to this, students will be provided with one-on-one care, small group sessions and opportunities to serve in areas such as hospitality, worship, prayer, daily chores, and local ministry.

Outreach Phase

Following the lecture phase, students and staff will spend 2-3 months in a cross-cultural missions practicum, taking God’s great love and His transforming power to the nations. This is a time to put into practice all that was learned and experienced during the lecture phase.

On the Outreach, students and staff will have the opportunity to stretch their faith as they step out and risk greatly for the sake of His Kingdom.

And as you go, preach this message: ‘Heaven’s kingdom realm is accessible, close enough to touch.’ You must continually bring healing to lepers and to those who are sick, and make it your habit to break off the demonic presence from people, and raise the dead back to life. Freely you have received the power of the kingdom, so freely release it to others.
